Our passion at Clover Hill is to have the healthiest, happiest, and cleanest animals possible – which means healthy, nutrient dense food for you and your family; the way God intended our food should be!
Our animals are never given antibiotics, steroids, hormones, growth stimulants or fed GMO feed.
Brad was preparing to mow
the wheat stubble for straw when he noticed the field was thick with
crab grass. Instead of baling the straw he let the milk
cows graze on it. As you can see - they loved it! This definitely was a gift from God.
"Lester", the bull , watching over his beautiful herd!!
Cows feasting on more crab grass.
Brad pastured the milk cows on Sorghum Sudan grass for the first time Wednesday morning - they were like a kid in a candy store; or a mom in an organic store!! (:
Behind the Sorghum Sudan Grass is our field of non-GMO, organic corn. The corn really looks great, thus far. It's an absolute faith builder to see all the dry brittle pastures surrounding these two lush green fields. God is definitely taking care of His cows during this record breaking drought.
The pastures are turning green again underneath the dried out grass.
Corn coming through!!
A couple weeks ago, Brad asked some of our members to pray for rain. We hadn't had rain for many weeks and our pastures were drying up. He also needed to plant his corn by June 15th. We've had an inch or more of rain in the last week and he was able to plant his corn. As you can see from the dry soil - we still need more rain, but we have faith that GOD will provide all of our needs. Thanks for your prayers!
Saturday, while the family was delivering in K.C., I finally sat down and "learned" how to put videos on YouTube and then post them on our blog. I'm not sure how I did it or if I can even do it again! But here is a video of our milk cows.
As you can see in the video a cow discovered the electric netting! This type of netting is necessary when you pasture your chickens to keep stray dogs, coyotes, fox, racoons and other predictors from eating our chickens and/or their eggs.
The day I took this video - I walked way out to the other side of the pasture with Floyd's camera hoping to take a bunch of pictures and videos of our cows and chickens and before I was finished taking this first video the batteries died in the camera!!! It was a nice walk anyway! Enjoy!!
Floyd stood by with his camera taking pictures of the mamma in labor early yesterday morning. He had to walk away for a short time to finish up his chores and when he came back.........
